Congratulations to our Gordon Creek Classroom Hero

Radio station WYJB B95.5 recently held a nominate your Classroom Hero contest. Mrs. Kristin Scott, Kindergarten teacher at Gordon Creek Elementary, was the lucky winner! Kristin was nominated by fellow coworker, Kristina Greene. As the Classroom Hero, Kristin was able to then bring her entire class to see the Globetrotter's Ballin' in the Classroom event at the MVP arena. The nomination letter read:

"Mrs. Scott is truly an amazing Kindergarten teacher. Her enthusiasm and creativity is displayed daily in her classroom. Mrs. Scott embraces school events and often comes to school in costume. She has come to school as her 100-year-old granny, a dinosaur, sported crazy hair, and many other characters. Her students just love her creativity and the way she makes learning fun. Mrs. Scott has created a flexible seating classroom that helps her students stay engaged and focused. She plays an intricate role in our PBIS program and is currently planning a school-wide glow party for grades K-5. Mrs. Scott is also a Basketball coach at Ballston Spa High School. She has coached girls that were once in her Kindergarten class. Mrs. Scott also invites her basketball team back to her classroom for pizza and team building. I have been teaching kindergarten with Mrs. Scott for many years. She is an inspiration for our youngest learners and staff at Gordon Creek. I would love to see Kristin be recognized for her dedication and love for teaching and coaching. How amazing it would be for Kristin to win this contest for her students."
