GC Kindergartners Visit Community Workers at Hannaford Supermarket

Kindergarten Students at Hannaford Produce

Our kindergartners recently learned what an important part community workers play in a community. Their field on Friday, June 7 introduced them to the important community workers at the Milton Hannaford Supermarket. The students received a shopping bag as they entered the store. Their first stop was the produce department where they learned about the vegetables and fruits found there. Each student received a delicious apple for their bag. On to the bakery department where the kindergartners learned about breads and saw how frosting flowers are made for cakes. Next stop was the deli for a piece of delicious cheese and a visit to the lobster tank. Did you know the largest lobster ever caught weighed 48 pounds? Off to the loading dock where they saw how all the big pallets of food and drinks are moved from the trucks into the store. Next stop, the pharmacy, where they got a lollipop, a sticker and a wave from the friendly staff. Last stop was the check-out line. Each kindergartner got a bag of veggie sticks and scanned their item. Thank you Hannaford for showing us all the important jobs in your supermarket. We are happy to have you in our community.
